Invisalign
A series of clear, smooth aligners molded to fit your mouth. They are barely visible and removable, so you can eat whatever you like during treatment.
Dr. Sheridan will tell you at your consultation whether Invisalign suits your bite.

Dr. Sheridan is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and a former UC Davis faculty member on its Craniofacial Team. Orthodontics is the only work this practice does.
Your bite and jaw, properly assessed
She studies your smile line, the dark corners when you smile, spacing, crowding and tooth size and shape. Models of your teeth are mounted to check how your teeth fit with your jaw joint (your bite), and treatment is planned to solve any issues.

Dr. Sheridan opened her private practice in Grass Valley in 1981 and has cared for this community's smiles ever since. She is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, is a former UC Davis faculty member on its Craniofacial Team, and in her own words is passionate about "creating a lasting orthodontic result with aesthetics that fit the facial structure."

Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Your first visit is a complimentary examination of your teeth and jaws. Dr. Sheridan recommends the right treatment and explains the fees, and there is no charge for the visit.
How much do braces cost?
It depends on what your teeth and bite need, so your exact fee is set out at the free consultation. You can spread the cost across your treatment with an interest-free in-house plan, or use CareCredit or Cherry. Bring your insurance details and we'll help you understand your coverage.
How long does treatment take?
Anywhere from 6 to 30 months. It depends on age, how complex the problem is, how your body responds, and how closely you follow instructions such as wearing rubber bands.
Do braces hurt?
Your teeth may feel sore or tender for a few days after braces are fitted or adjusted, and your cheeks and lips can take a week or two to get used to them. An over-the-counter pain reliever such as Advil usually helps.
Can I have clear braces or Invisalign?
Yes. Clear ceramic braces cost no more than metal, and Invisalign aligners are also available. Dr. Sheridan recommends a system based on your specific problem, how you want it to look and your budget.
How often are appointments, and when?
You will visit about once a month for progress checks and adjustments. The office is open Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4pm. Longer visits are booked in the mornings to keep more after-school times free.
Do you do regular dental work too?
No. Sheridan Smiles is an orthodontic practice only. Keep seeing your regular dentist for check-ups and cleanings during treatment.
